Michael Burritt and I are teaming up to organize the first annual Eastman Percussion Festival, a weeklong summer experience open to college and high school percussionists. It takes place July 6-10, 2020 at Eastman School of Music and registration is now open via the link in bio!👍🏽 . The festival's mission is to cultivate a spirit of community and learning through faculty concerts and masterclasses, performance opportunities, and in-depth group discussions. We’ll have daily clinics on musicianship, composing and creativity, music business and more. And we are lucky to have some amazing guest faculty members joining us, including Doug Perkins, Andrea Venet, Annie Stevens, Will James, Drew Worden and Jason Haaheim. Pinehurst is a special place. Today it was made even better when @stephjones11 walked the last 5 holes of number 2 with me. There wasn’t a tee time within 30 minutes of me on a US Open course. So I was in a magical solitude on one of the worlds best courses for 13 holes. Then, 1 day before our 6th anniversary, I was joined by my sweetheart to walk a great closing stretch of holes. On the walk up the 18th fairway (after a healthy drive) she reminded me how lucky we are. Indeed sweetie we are! Cheers to many more years and walks together. Happy anniversary. @pinehurstresort

How does on prepare for 6 holiday concerts in a weekend? With a PR clean and jerk at 195. 200 was close. Just caught it a little forward. Added the Olympic lifts to my training this year as a way to challenge myself. Definitely needs a ton of work in the technique department (looking at you @lift4life_weightliftingteam ) but way better already. Happy with a C and J over body weight to round out 2019! Now to go play some jingle bells and sleigh ride.
